Weetslade Ring Ouzel

This afternoon's stroll around Weetslade was quite productive. First bird seen on the North slope, east end this Ring Ouzel.

A Wheatear covered the ground just behind.
There were lots of Skylark, Pipits and Linnet around the slopes of the hill

Onto the reed beds where a Great Spotted Woodpecker occupied a dead tree and a Grey Heron took flight.

A Little Grebe was spotted on one of the open water areas and a Tawny Owl called from the nearby small patch of woodland
A couple of Roe Deer scampered across the hill face

 and a Buzzard circled overhead.
Two trail bikes and ten dogs together completed the sightings

I know I have no right to complain but if only Prestwick Carr had some grass meadow left we might get an Ouzel. Next time you're there flush it to the west

Some people are just never satisfied, but I'll see what I can do
