The fields adjacent to and immediately south of Gosforth Park NR are the nearest open farmland to the city centre.Its just 2 mile to Northumberland Street. So I find it surprising that Roe Deer frequent it in significant numbers so often.

I often see the deer as I pass the fields traveling from Killingworth.
I've not seen any deer on patch but I remember speaking to someone a while ago who had seen a Roe Deer, early morning, in the area behind Killingworth village, presumably having come from Gosforth Park. I've not been into the reserve for sometime, so must pay a visit soon. Cheers. Brian.
I think you are correct Brian, that they are from Gosforth Park. Don't know how many they are but I dont think I have ever walked around and not seen any.
