Ok, I feel a bit of a prat so I'll get the excuses out of the way first, --- I did say I was new to this. But I just need to be sure I've got the ident of these super little birds at St Mary's Island correct. Sanderling? -please confirm or otherwise.

Absolutely correct, nice shots, never feel awkward about asking for ID help, I've been birding twenty years and still get it wrong occasionally.
